Energizing All-Purpose Seasonings

'Rudrub' is a Spice Blend of Maple Sugar, Coffee and More

What started as a school project to develop a business plan for eighth grade student Emily Rudnick turned into a full-blown opportunity, and now she is launching a Kickstarter for her unique all-purpose seasoning that "adds flavor to most dishes and is a great replacement to salt and pepper."

Following the creation of the spicy Rudspice, Rudrub is being launched as a new proprietary blend that builds off of the first seasoning with adobo, roasted granulated garlic, fine white pepper, cumin, granulated onion, kosher salt, marjoram, sumac, coffee and granulated maple sugar. By adding some ingredients that are commonly found in barbecue rubs, this new spice blend is unique in that it caramelizes when cooked.

To source spices and bottle Rudspice and Rudrub, Emily and her father are working with a local company in Denver Colorado, Savory Spice, where the products will also be sold.
