The Aldi Easter Range Has Reduced Plastic Packaging

The Aldi Easter range is being launched by the brand in the UK with a reduced amount of plastic packaging that will help consumers to reduce their purchase of the material, while also supporting the retailer in its bid to reduce plastic waste.

The supermarket brand has removed two million pieces of plastic from its Easter range that would otherwise go right in the trash after use, which will remove a total of 29 tonnes from being used. The brand has thus augmented products slightly with Easter eggs with square bottoms to eliminate the need for a plastic insert in packaging and more.

Plastics and Packaging Director at Aldi UK Richard Gorman spoke on the new Aldi Easter range initiative saying, "We’re committed to eliminating plastic wherever possible, and the changes to our Easter range are a great example of removing unnecessary plastic that we can all do without. We know our customers want to protect the environment, and it is changes like this that make all the difference."
