Mater and Patricia Urquiola Showcase the Alder Collection

The Alder collection between Danish sustainable design brand Mater and Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola was presented during Milan Design Week 2024. The main component of the furniture capsule is the use of Matek, which is a patented material technology by Mater. Post-materials from consumer and industrial spaces are collected and blended down to be a usable raw substance.

Urquiola shares, "In collaboration with Mater, the development of the Alder collection has been an enriching journey, marked by the shared exchange of experience and a collective commitment to sustainable design." The collection features an indoor and outdoor lounge table, a stool, and a side table. These come in four size options with every base made up of two elements shaped through the press molding.
