CVEDIA's AI Solution Seeks to Put Users' Mind at Ease

Singapore-based start-up CVEDIA is hypothesising an AI solution that is "one step ahead of deepfakes."

AI-generated videos are posing a problem on many fronts -- this is especially so for women, social media and perhaps even for democracy in the future. CVEDIA has proposed its software as a viable AI solution for deepfake detection.

CVEDIA's field of operation includes the development, training, and validation of machine-learning applications. It does so by referencing SynCity -- "a platform that runs proprietary algorithms that simulate real-world physics" and their environments, including people, lighting, and so on. These are done so meticulously that the artificial intelligence algorithm interprets them as real. The start-up believes that "since its algorithms are believable to the AI, [then] they can also be used to train it to detect fake videos."
