Sazo Launches Its Agentic AI Cross-Border Platform

Sazo introduced an agentic AI-powered cross-border commerce platform that lets shoppers purchase foreign goods while paying once in their local currency. Headquartered in Nagoya, Japan, the service estimates duties and shipping upfront, translates product listings and consolidates purchases from multiple sellers into a single shipment.

Sazo began supporting purchases from South Korea to Japan in 2024, added Japan-to-Korea commerce in 2025 and opened access to Japanese inventory for U.S. shoppers in June 2026. Acting as a proxy buyer, the company purchases and repackages items before managing customs clearance and delivery. Sazo also plans to develop an API that allows third-party AI agents to connect with its fulfillment infrastructure.

For consumers, the platform reduces customs invoices and foreign exchange surprises by incorporating tariffs, duties and shipping into the checkout price. The service provides an execution layer for emerging AI shopping agents that cannot independently manage duty estimates, customs or local fulfillment.
