70s-Inspired Ski Chalets

This A-Frame Chalet is Resigned to Resemble Neighboring 1970s Cabins

Canadian architectural firm Scott and Scott recently designed a beautiful A-frame chalet that mimics the look of traditional 1970s ski cabins. Although the A-frame style has been around for quite some time, the distinct design remains a popular choice for those who like to spend their weekends in the mountains.

The beautiful A-frame chalet by Scott and Scott sits on a slopping rock face just outside of Whistler village. Because the home is surrounded by 1970s-style cabins, the architects decided to give the home a similar look. The result is an imposing structure with the same Gothic arch typical of older chalets. The chalet itself is made from locally sourced douglas fir and topped with wooden shingles, giving it a warm and rustic quality that fits perfectly into the mountainside neighborhood.
