Eco-Friendly Big Rigs

Renault Premium Optifuel Features Fuel-Saving Aerodynamics

The aerodynamic Renault Optifuel Solutions Generation 2010 test vehicle aims to lower fuel consumption by 15%. The tractor has a redesigned cab and rearview cameras replace wind-resisting mirrors.

The aerodynamic Renault Optifuel cuts CO2 emissions and fuel consumption when compared to conventional big rigs. Further changes to the driveline, engine and gearbox as well as fuel mixture changes will increase efficiency.

The Optifuel is just one of several Renault projects aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing pollution. See the video above for a look at an experimental hybrid fuel vehicle.
