Aero Glass is a new heads-up display technology, targeted towards aircraft pilots, that spawns from the bringing together of the Epson Moverio BT-200 smart glasses and an a special app. The technology allows aircraft pilots to visualize terrain, navigation, instrument, weather reading and airspace information directly on a heads-up display.
This information, in addition to safety procedure and protocol information, can all be viewed on the Aero Glass heads-up display, without requiring the pilots to inspect different physical instruments.
Aero Glass is the first augmented reality solution developed specifically with regular aviation pilots in mind, with such technology previously only being tested by the military. The technology will be tested by aviation early adopters and the aviation community, with feedback being used by Epson and Aero Glass to test and enhance the product.
