Water-Gulping Firefighting Systems

This Aerial Firefighting System Sucks Water Incredibly Fast

Spanish firm Inventec has invented a novel aerial firefighting system that is capable of sucking up 1,000 liters of water in five seconds, meaning it can gulp 12,000 liters of water per minute. This is supremely superior to existing aerial firefighting systems. Helicopters are often used to dump water on forest fires and other large fires, so the more water your aerial system can consume and release, the better.

This aerial firefighting system makes use of a dangling sphere-shaped tank that is connected to a vacuum pump located in the helicopter. The tank is designed so it can be used in water bodies as shallow as 25 cm and can be filled up without having to be moved laterally. This means helicopters can access a greater array of water bodies that don't necessarily have to be deep and wide.
