This Fully Accessible Amusement Park Caters to Children with Special Needs

Gordon Hartman recently opened a fully accessible amusement park that caters to children with special needs. Although theme parks are popular among kids of all ages, these establishments are not necessarily accessible to special needs children. In order to ensure all children have the opportunity to visit an amusement park, Hartman decided to open his very own accessible theme park.

'Morgan’s Wonderland in Wonderland' is the first theme park equipped with accessible rides and unprecedented wheelchair access. Although the park itself has been open since 2005, this week will see the addition of a new attraction called 'Morgan’s Inspiration Island.' Morgan’s Inspiration Island is a fully accessible water park that is wheelchair-accessible and safe for children with special needs. Children who enter the water park will receive waterproof wristbands that allow parents to keep track of their whereabouts. The water is even temperature controlled so that those with sensitive skin can still partake in the experience.

The fully accessible amusement park demonstrates an unparalleled effort to make theme parks more inclusive.
