Donna Wilson is the Artist Behind Abstract Assembly

Abstract Assembly is a wooden sculptural series created by Donna Wilson. In 2020, Wilson's art project took shape as a limited edition line of wooden chairs and mirrors, which experimented with colors and organic forms. In 2021, the artist evolved the art project further with handmade sculptures.

Wilson's experimental compositions include small one-off abstract wooden tabletop sculptures. Some of the artist's newest pieces incorporate hand-blown glass elements. Wilson sculpted the designated pieces to leave deliberate empty spaces for glass to be blown within to accomplish the material combination. Made using traditional joinery methods, each sculpture is carved out of Douglas fir, Oak, or reclaimed wood. The sculptures are complete with a water-based and gloss paint finish, coated with a clear natural lacquer.
