Furniture that shifts between two modes of function has been around since fold-up beds but London studio Aberrant Architecture pushes this concept further than most. The firm recently created a slew of pub tables that transform between games-tables for nighttime revelry and desks for working during the day.
The design involves a nineteenth century pub game called 'Devil Among the Tailors.' The game is centered around nine skittles arranged in a three by three square. A ball is hung from a vertical post above the skittles. The object of the game is to knock the skittles down by throwing the ball in an arc (rather that using direct shots).
The game neatly tucks away into a drawer while center of the table's surface flips out to provide space for a laptop and writing utensils.
