8-Bit Short Films

A Little Bit World Unleashes Retro Geek Icons into Real-Life Scenarios

'A Little Bit World' is an amazing short film made by two students, Jonas and Simon Schwarzer. The film borrows heavily from the Patrick Jean short 'Pixel' in that 8-bit videogame characters are freed from their electronic confines and let loose into the world.

The biggest differences between 'A Little Bit World' and 'Pixel' is in the production values. The Schwarzer brothers’ film looks like an amateur film, which is actually what makes it so charming. The shaky camera and real-life as opposed to computer-generated sets make it seem as if Mario, Donkey Kong and co. had actually been let loose in the world and were captured going nuts by an amateur cameraman. You must check out this awesomely nerdy short film if only for the ending. Think 'TRON' meets Pac-Man.
