Estée Lauder Companies Announced Their Contract Candles Integration

Estée Lauder Companies announced it will integrate select luxury candle and home fragrance capabilities from longtime partner Contract Candles into its UK manufacturing network, establishing the UK as its primary manufacturing base for candles across prestige brands including Jo Malone London, Tom Ford and Aerin. The move includes assuming the lease of a Contract Candles facility near Whitman Laboratories in Petersfield, Hampshire, while adding research, development and quality capabilities and welcoming approximately 50 employees over time.

The integration builds on more than two decades of partnership between the companies and follows ELC’s investment of US$72 million in Whitman Laboratories since fiscal 2020 to enhance automation, quality systems, sustainability initiatives and advanced manufacturing capabilities. The site already produces more than 90 million units annually and will now expand its role in supporting luxury candle and home-fragrance production alongside existing skincare and fragrance manufacturing.

For consumers, the investment is expected to support greater consistency, craftsmanship and innovation across premium home-fragrance products while reinforcing the British heritage associated with brands such as Jo Malone London.
