Verizon is Bringing its High-Speed 5G to Several Audi Car Models

Verizon has partnered up with Audi to create 5G-enabled cars in the future. This marks the first time Verizon has partnered with an automaker, which means the Audi 5G vehicles will boast unique connectivity features through Verizon's network.

In addition to simple network connectivity in the car's consoles and infotainment centers, 5G functionality also enables a variety of safety features, driving features, and convenience features. Some of these include locating one's car, intercar communication to prevent crashes, high-definition 3D rendering of maps, and future autonomous vehicle endeavors.

For the vehicles' passengers, though, built-in 5G broadband enables ultra-fast streaming of movies, games, music, and other forms of media. This could also include the adoption of direct video calling applications in the future, such as 'Zoom' or 'Skype.'
