Cosmic Origami Artwork

Joanie Lemercier Projects Light Effects on 3D Origami Art

Bristol-based artist Joanie Lemercier's 3D origami artwork is simple and yet visually appealing. The three main materials -- paper, tape and lights -- bring about an extraordinary 3D canvas that resembles a cosmic view.

The piece had been created for the gallery space at Birmingham using A4 pieces of paper folded in pyramid forms. Lights have been installed at the edged of the pyramid figures that create a milky way look with different star clusters. The work is alluring in both day light and in dark.

The mixed media used in the artwork is efficiently applied, creating an impressive unity to the body of work. Origami and light installations can be seen throughout the artists portfolio.
