This Zero Electricity Air Cooler is a Green Solution for Bangladesh

This zero electricity air cooler was designed to meet the needs of rural community members in Bangladesh. 70% of the South Asian country's population live in corrugated tin huts. Unfortunately, these simple homes become unbearable to live in during summer months when temperatures sore to 45 degrees celsius. As a solution, the Grey Group in Dhaka collaborated with Grameen Intel Social Business Inc volunteers to create the Eco-Cooler -- the first zero electricity air cooler in the world.

The Eco-Coolers are essentially DIY air conditioning units that require no energy and are made out of recycled materials, making them perfect for rural areas. This is just one eco invention making use of empty plastic bottles.

Eco-Coolers have been installed in Nilphamari, Daulatdia, Paturia, Modonhati and Khaley villages.
