The Y-3 Fall 2014 collection is a delicious fusion of fashion and sport.
The menswear label pretty much pioneered the high-performance fashion movement when it came onto the scene about a decade ago. Y-3 continues to excel at tailored sportswear, but this time around, designer Yohji Yamamoto was specifically inspired by superheroes in comic books. Standout pieces in the collection included striped-hoodies-turned-tunics, gym-shorts-cum-sarouel-pants and a track jacket that became a poncho, because what is a super hero without a cape, anyway?
You don't have to be a comic fan to enjoy these pieces. As with most fashion collections, the inspiration behind the Y-3 Fall 2014 collection is subtle; an empathetic nod to men who understand the elegance within sport.
