Salvatore Calabrese, also known as 'The Maestro,' is one of the world’s leading bartenders and mixologists who has recently tried to create the world’s most expensive cocktail.
In an attempt to defeat the Guinness Book of World Records for the world’s most expensive cocktail, Calabrese mixed his drink with ingredients dating back to the French Revolution like a 1778 cognac, 1860 Curacao, 1770 liquer and bitters from the 1900s.
As reported by the Metro UK, the challenge was delayed by three months when a precious bottle of The Maestro's was smashed and all was thought to be lost. The Guinness Book of World Records is currently investigating to determine whether the $9,000 concoction that was mixed at London’s Playboy Club can beat that record. The current holder of this luxurious title is from Dubai with a drink that costs over $6,000.
