Deadly Highway Guides

CJ Pony Parts Highlights Some of the World's Most Dangerous Roads

If you've got a need for speed and perhaps a deathwish, this motion graphic from CJ Pony Parts tells you all about the best roads in the world to be a speedster—spoiler alert—they also happen to be some of the world's most dangerous roads.

One road that definitely makes the cut is Germany's Autobahn, although most accidents occur on the parts of the road where there's no speed limit. A few US roads make the list too, including the Texas State Highway 130, although accidents tend to be rare because there are few cars on the road on a daily basis. Arizona's Route 79 is another one that makes the cut, with a shockingly high death rate of one death every 11 hours.

With one in three of the world's accidents being speed-related, perhaps it's time for drivers to start taking the scenic route instead of racing from one place to another.
