Literal Food Puns

This Wordplay Sentences are Spelled Out Using Edible Ingredients

Talented creative and food enthusiast Marie Saba put together a series of literal wordplay sentences that creatively incorporate edible ingredients into the phrases. The puns play off of words with similar sounding edible equivalents to create works of art posted to the artist's Instagram page.

Puns and wordplays are enjoyable for many consumers and giving the sentences a sense of literalness adds to the fun of the language play. Saba's creative works do just that in her series #FoodValentines that focus specifically on romantic puns. The images include phrases such as "I am bananas for u" coupled with a pair of bananas and "We make a great pair" highlighting a green pear. The letters are also edible and made out of biscuits so that the entire work of wordplay art can actually be eaten.
