WoodWatch is the first watch brand in the world to utilize cactus leather as the base for its watch straps. The company researched a wide variety of sustainable and plant-based materials before deciding on cactus leather for the material's texture and aesthetic.
In addition to using sustainable materials, WoodWatch's leathermaker, DESSERTO, creates the cactus leather through an environmentally friendly process where a single cactus plant can be harvested several times. DESSERTO does not waste any materials or energy in its creation process.
Lastly, WoodWatch is continuing its tree-planting initiative from 2013 whereby for each watch purchased, the company will plant one tree. On top of this, though, the company will also plant one tree for each cactus leather strap it produces, making the process even more sustainable.
