White-Out Winter Captures

Photos by Camilo Rojas Show the Cold of the Season

Colombian-born, Paris-based designer, Camilo Rojas takes a break from dealing with typography and takes on a photographer persona in the Winter/Austria series of beautifully taken images.

Shot in the ski area of Serfaus Fiss Ladis, Austria, Rojas braced the cold to deliver viewers these pictures that depict the beauty of the winter season, as portrayed by the snow-capped mountains, hills and roofs. Against the shades of white, the quartet of ski enthusiasts and overhead cable cars shot from a high altitude appear like a bunch of black dots on a blank sheet of paper.

The contrasting colors in these images also give them a visual punch, especially the one displaying the exterior of a wooden house. My favorite picture from the Winter/Austria by Camilo Rojas series has to be the one showing the cluster of black and white painted buildings, which blend well with the wintry landscape behind.
