Microsoft's Windows 8 Will Reportedly Play Xbox 360 Games

In an attempt to consolidate their vast customer base, Microsoft is reportedly designing Windows 8, their newest operating system, with the ability to play Xbox 360 games from day one.

For the uninitiated, computers cannot play console games; instead, customers are forced to purchase tailor-made consoles like the Xbox 360, which come packaged with unique services and downloadable games. Yet, in the last decade, consoles have grown to become increasingly similar to their PC counter-parts in terms of processing speed and size.

The proposed innovation will result in a quid pro quo scenario, with Microsoft willingly relinquishing the harsh copy protection associated with 360 games, yet opening their doors to potentially huge profits.

If this innovation carries through into the final product, the chasm between consoles and computers may be sealed once and for all! Now let’s hope the online fanboys stop quarrelling.
