Penetrative WiFi Delivery Projects

This AT&T System Uses Affordable Equipment & Smart Engineering

Telecommunications giant AT&T is developing an exceptionally innovative and high-tech WiFi delivery system that is designed to use futuristic technologies to transmit Internet signals to any place where there's electricity.

Developed as part of an initiative dubbed AirGig, this WiFi delivery system makes use of plastic antennas placed along power lines. The system transmits broadband signals around power lines, allowing anyone with a WiFi-equipped device to go ahead and access the Internet, with 4G LTE-equivalent speeds available for use. The key to the system is the use of so-called millimeter waves, which transmit broadband Internet that is reliable and not flaky.

This particular WiFi delivery system is still undergoing testing, but once deployed on a larger scale, the system could help promote Internet access, an important goal given that our lives are increasingly lived online now.
