Limitless Beauty Campaigns

The #WhatMakesMeBeautiful Campaign Reexamines How We Measure Beauty

In honor of National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, Project HEAL launched the #WhatMakesMeBeautiful campaign to change the way we measure beauty. While the organization has long provided financial and emotional support for those with eating disorders, now it is trying to tackle a much larger issue.

The #WhatMakesMeBeautiful campaign aims to combat traditional advertising, which tells women that their value rests on their physical beauty. As Project HEAL's co-founder Liana Rosenman explains, "Every day, people are confronted with images of the 'perfect' body that just don't reflect the diverse society we live in." To combat this message, the organization recruited five women and asked them to explain what makes them beautiful in their own words. The messages from each woman convey that beauty is limitless and not tied to one's physical attributes.

The campaign reflects a growing demand for more diverse advertising and a shift away from a singular idea of beauty.
