The Watermelon Sugar HI-(CHEW) Donut Tastes Like a Summer Fruit

The Doughnut Project and HI-CHEW teamed up to create a watermelon donut inspired by the candy brand and a beloved summer melon. The limited-edition Watermelon Sugar HI-(CHEW) donut was recently announced just days ahead of National Watermelon Day in August and it takes flavor and texture cues from the HI-CHEW Watermelon candy.

The donut has a candy shell glaze that's infused with HI-CHEW Watermelon to share some of the chewy texture that fans love so much. There's also watermelon lime cream to mimic the layered colors and taste of the candy, as well as a sweet fruit flavor that's tinged with a slight puckering effect.

On National Watermelon Day, the first 100 customers who purchase the limited-edition donut at The Doughnut Project's West Village location will get a free HI-CHEW Watermelon stick.
