Delta is Offering Free Ferry Rides to Shea Stadium in New York

Delta is offering New York Mets fans free rides to World Series games through an unconventional transport method -- water taxis. Shea stadium is just south of Flushing Bay, and is accessible by boat, which provided a unique marketing opportunity for the hotel chain.

The boat will be called 'Delta's Amazin' Mets Express,' and will have former Mets players and New York celebrities joining fans on the ride. The idea originally started as a bus, but this meant sitting in dreadful New York traffic. The unique water taxi is the perfect compromise, providing both transport to the game, as well as a unique brand experience. Delta and the Mets staged a scavenger hunt in the city for the chance to win two tickets to games three and four of the World Series.
