60s-Inspired Designer Speakers

Braun and Virgil Abloh Joined to Release the Wandanlage Stereo

Braun and Virgil Abloh have collaborated on a stylishly designed speaker called the Wandanlage that takes its inspiration from a 1965 design of the same name.

The joint effort pays homage to the beautiful piece and updates it with an array of new features, making for a "functional art" piece that acts as a statement work in any modern space. A few updates to the design include a SM3 shaver and T1 toaster. Balancing a retro design with a modern appeal, the stereo unit is meant to be installed into the wall, where the all-chrome body appears to float.

To promote the collaborative work and highlight the impressive sound qualities offered by the unit, Braun and Abloh released a film that features an 80-minute remix track created by Abloh and The Chopstars, a team of sound designers who are based out of Houston.
