Bare-Boned Modern Buses

The Windowed Volvo One Bus Was Inspired by Contemporary Architecture

Inspired by the curtain walls and the exposed steel beams of modern architecture, the Volvo One Bus has a well-defined frame and generous fenestration that lets in plenty of light. It's a unique concept for Pune, India, that makes the skeleton of the shuttle pronounced so to give passengers an expansive view of outside and to produce a fresh outward appearance.

The top of the coach even integrates sunroofing, and these are enhanced with transparent solar panels for generating electricity. Electric hub motors are located at each of the wheels for superior steering, and information regarding the shuttles' routes is displayed in large legible letters on the digitized windshield of the Volvo One Bus. Finally, Rishi Soman's concept is low and spacious with lightweight seating to maximize its capacity.
