The Vogue Italia April 2014 Portrays Domestic Violence Scenes

The Vogue Italia 2014 issue features a gruesome cover story called 'Horror Story.' The shoot, photographed by Steven Meisel, depicts scenes of extreme domestic violence. Women are seen running from their men, who are holding knives, scissors and axes. The women are the distinct target because they are either covered in blood trying to escape their attackers, trying to fight back or have unfortunately already faced defeat.

You will undoubtedly forget that you are looking at clothes in the likes of Balenciaga, Miu Miu, Fendi and Marc Jacobs when you come across these nerve-wracking photos. The nightmare scenarios were inspired by the still-rising rates of domestic violence in Italy, which Editor in Chief Franca Sozzani wanted to shed light on.
