Celebrating Frayed Art

The Fringe Projects

The Fringe Projects is a unique series of 10 pieces of artwork that range from music and films to cutting-edge wall tapestry art, dressed-up bottles and furniture. The Fringe Projects is a collaboration between multi-talented Danish designer Henrik Vibskov and Swedish-born graphic genius Andreas Emenius.

This is not fashion, per se. But it’s on the verge--or the fringe, if you will. The two Scandinavian designers have been playing with dressing up beer bottles, posing dressed in optic war costumes in spaces of patterns, designing ten pointy chairs to be placed in a gourmet restaurant, and taking a boat trip through a red swamp--making references to popuar culture and history all the while.

Both artists are graduates from Central Saint Martins. Allegedly the inspiration for this unique collaboration occurred after watching the film ‘Solaris’ and staring at a New Year’s Eve party hat. However, their work has already been featured in ‘Dazed & Confused,’ Milan Design Week, a screening in Paris at a studio during ‘Futurtense,’ and on the cover of Danish music magazine Soundvenue. The grand finale is a solo exhibition at Zeeuws Museum in Holland.
