The Artistic Pieces by Vanessa Dakinsky are an Explosion of Dreams

The artistic movement of Surrealism seems to still have presence in the minds of many artists, like France-based painter Vanessa Dakinsky. Her series, entitled Fantasmagories and Unportrait, is full of bizarre and unexpected images that recall the artwork of famous surrealist painters.

Most of Dakinsky's portraits feature a hybrid race of humans and deformed creatures with eccentric and strange headwear. From naked men popping out of a girl's head to a sad man covering his head with a box, the subjects of these pieces make for a wide range of complex imagery that seems to come from the subconscious. A common trait in Dakinsky's work is the fascinating blurry effect of the contours of the subjects, which adds a dream-like touch to the portraits. Also, the way she plays with bright and bold colors produces an interesting game of tonalities and patterns.

The intriguing artwork by Vanessa Dakinsky will be exhibited at Galerie Susini in Provence, France from February 10th until the 25th.
