This Upcycled Stationery by Palm Republik Recycles Biomass Waste

Palm Republik broadens the upcycled stationery industry by introducing an unconventional material -- palm paper -- which is produced from the biomass waste of palm oil production. Palm paper originated in Malaysia, a land with plentiful palm trees. This is a sustainable alternative to chemical pulping processes.

Palm Republik’s line of simple products include softcover notebooks, which have palm paper covers. The 48-paged book is made of eco-friendly paper that is sewn together with thread. The creator will also launch hardcover journals, poster prints, note cards, bookmarks and gift tags.

The notebooks will be offered in three different sizes in five colors. All Palm Republik products are printed using FSC-approved, soy-based ink. All products are manufactured with the environment in mind.
