Anjana Iyer, a media designer based in New Zealand, has illustrated a comical series of photos that depict "untranslatable words" from different languages. The series is called 'Found In Translation,' and features pictures that describe the funny English translation of certain international words.
The designer got the inspiration for the project from an article she stumbled upon on the Internet that listed words that have no English equivalent. She depicted a new word each day. "I wanted it to be something compelling enough to do every single day and I have had a fascination with learning new languages for the longest time," she explained.
Interestingly enough, there are words for "a woman who looks better from a distance" and "the feeling of being alone in the woods."
