Glowing Internet-Detecting Swords

Spark IO's Unsecured Wifi Finder is Inspired by the Hobbit

This unsecured wifi finder also doubles as a Hobbit sword. WarSting is a wifi-detecting sword that glows when it finds what it's looking for. Introduced in a Spark IO blog post, WarSting is also something you can replicate at home as a techy DIY project.

Inspired by Bilbo Baggins's sword Sting (as seen in the recent film The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies), the unsecured wifi finder lights up when it senses a password-free wifi network. Perfect for Lord of the Rings and Hobbit fans alike, the tiny sword model encourages people to encrypt their Internet. When it scans an unprotected network, it publishes a message on it that says "[Your wifi network] has been vanquished!"
