Snøhetta's Underwater Restaurant Design Has Evolved

Approximately three years ago, Scandinavian architectural studio Snøhetta designed a striking and luxurious underwater restaurant that was aptly named 'Under.' Recently, the practice released photos of its structural creation that showed how nature had "embraced" the man-made structure. This was the intention of this restaurant design. In an era where architects seek ways to co-create with nature, the updated state of this underwater restaurant points to how architecture doesn't necessarily need to be static.

When designing this establishment, Snøhetta left the exterior exposed so that it can welcome algae and mollusks. The recent photographs showcase a building that is completely enveloped by marine life.

Located in the remote Lindesnes area, the underwater restaurant is an excellent destination for an adventure but also a space where marine biologists can conduct studies without disturbing the ecosystem.
