Revised Social Media Postings

Twitter Will Be More Generous with Its 140-Character Tweet Length

As many users know, formatting a post to fit into the 140-character Tweet length limitation can sometimes be difficult. In order to make it a little easier, the social media giant is set to revise what it counts towards this.

In order to do so, it will no longer include quoted Tweets, polls, videos, images, GIFs and other attachments in the Tweet length limitation -- allowing users to better express themselves. Additionally, the company won't include mentioned usernames either, making it much less problematic to get information out to multiple accounts at once.

While this may increase the likelihood of spam on one end, representatives of Twitter hope that the freedom to do so will result in more positive dialog amongst users. The update will come into effect as of September 19th.
