Responsive Architectural Designs

IAAC Present the Research Project 'Translated Geometries'

Translated Geometries is a research project by students at the IAAC school that explores the idea of responsive architecture.

Many have heard of responsive design when it comes to website development, whereby a site adjusts its size according to the medium being used. This idea is then translated to architecture for the project, experimenting with heat and light to ensure that a building can withstand multiple environments. Taking this concept from one industry to another demonstrates how looking outside of one's own sector can result in forward-thinking products that can completely change how competitors are thinking about things too. While this project is still in the research phase, hopefully more developments will be made to forward the idea of responsive architecture. Photo Credits: designboom, iaac.net
