The Tim Burton-Inspired Pokemon Series is Creepy and Original

Vaughn Pinpin's Tim Burton-inspired Pokemon series shows what everyone's favorite pocket monsters would look if they were drawn by the atypical director. The Filipino artist has rendered the first three Pokemon and their evolved forms. Pinpin's Tim Burton-inspired Pokemon share only a slight resemblance with their uber-cute counterparts. The big eyes and signature features of each Pokemon still remain, but gone are the bright colors and the cheerful smiles. In their place are lots of dark colors and looks of dread.

Despite a lack of cuteness and colors these drawings are still awesome. The creators of Pokemon have chosen to continually release new Pokemon rather than update the looks of old ones. These Tim Burton-inspired Pokemon are one of the few artistic makeovers ever given to the first nine. Here's hoping that Pinpin continues his series and redesigns all the original 151 Pokemon.
