Harry Peck Designed the Wave Cycle Stool to Avoid Surfboard Waste

To mitigate wastefulness in the surfing industry, Harry Peck designed the Wave Cycle furniture piece. Using upcycled surfboard material, the student designer transforms foam into durable furniture for his final project. While surfing is an exciting sport to take part in or watch from shorelines, it comes at an environmental cost. According to Keep Britain Tidy, an estimated 16,000 boards are abandoned on beaches.

To avoid wildlife endangerment and ocean pollution, the Wave Cycle is long-lasting. The piece is reminiscent of the environment it came from, boasting wavy curves and a blue colorway. Harry Peck created the Wave Cycle still by using metal molds to form its various parts. They are then tightly secured into place using screws.
