Double-Sided Coin Rings

'The Ring Tree' Transforms the Contents of Your Change Purse

Most of us hoard coins, whether it be at the bottom of our purse or between out sofa cushions, but there are few of us who have decided to turn our excess coinage into jewelry. Nicholas Hekaman, on the other hand, is the proud designer and creator of 'The Ring Tree;' a range of meticulous rings crafted out of coins. Heckaman stumbled upon his trade during his long, futile search for an engagement ring. He ended up proposing to his girlfriend with a ring he created out of a silver coin, a hammer, and "a lot of patience."

The success of his first project encouraged Heckaman to continue, leading him to perfect the craft and ultimately expand the collection. Heckaman began to incorporate rings that showed off the original coin designs both inside and out. Of this process, he explains, "It took some trial and error, some failed attempts, and a bit of frustration, but I finally got my first double-sided coin ring."
