The 'Paptertoy Ladies' Hermien Verstraeten Series

Artist Hermien Verstraeten's 'Papertoy Ladies under glass dome' set features an assortment of miniature doll figurines. Verstraeten, more commonly known as 'Hermini,' developed the idea for the small sculptures while visiting a paper-themed installation in the Netherlands.

Hermini began her career upon her graduation from Belgium's Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK). Animation studies eventually led her to multiple film projects, working with Oscar nominees on various animation-based productions. Her movement from collaborations with Ghent International Film Festival and Comic House to at-home decorative pieces is one that she hopes to explore further via the Papertoy Ladies under glass dome series. As she recently put it to Schon Magazine, "They are a perfect way to bring some color into your home."
