Cafe General Stores

The Lucky Penny is a Hybrid Store and Cafe

Debbie Rix took advantage of an unoccupied space on Shaw Street (in Toronto's Trinity Bellwoods neighborhood), to create The Lucky Penny.

The Lucky Penny is part general store, part cafe, and it will undoubtedly become a one-stop-shop for those who frequent the Trinity Bellwoods park. Along with a sweet atmosphere, warm coffee and sweet treats, the store also offers items like groceries, dog toys and comic books. All edible items come from local sources in the area, such as Blackbird Baking Co. and Glory Hole Doughnuts.

In the summer, The Lucky Penny will be even more of a draw for city residents, as it opens its charming, 25-seat patio and will offer ice cream as a refreshing treat!
