Smartphone-Controlled Water Kettles

The iKettle is the World's First Wi-Fi Enabled Kettle

Next to watching paint dry, waiting for water boil is just as dull and tedious, which is where the iKettle comes in.

The iKettle is the world's first Wi-Fi enabled smart kettle, costing $160.79, that lets you start heating the kettle at the touch of a button and alerts you when the water is boiled. The kettle comes with a wireless-equipped base unit, and once the smartphone and kettle are on the same Wi-Fi network, the settings allow you to turn the kettle on, but also set the water temperature. Holding up to 1.8 liters of water, the kettle is made from stainless steel and has a soft-touch handle. There is a keep-warm feature -- as well as an auto shut-off boil-dry protection enabled -- and it even asks whether you want to start the kettle when you wake up. The iKettle is due to be available during the last week of November.
