Emotion-Based Light-Up Clothing

Iga W?gli?ska Desinged the Emotional Clothing Collection

The Emotional Clothing collection by Iga Węglińska responds to the wearer's changes in stress levels. The fashion designer made two tops that change color or flight with lights to identify the wearer's feelings of stress or anxiety. Moreover, Iga Węglińska's collection formed the designer's doctoral dissertation at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.

Designed to broaden the experience of clothing. The pieces are made of polysensory garments to expand the limits of apparel based on sensory substitution. Sensory substation entails the brain's registration of information from one sense, like touch, and transforming it into the perception of another sense, like sight. The clothing collection is designed to stimulate the wearer's senses by reacting to detected heart rates, body temperature, and Galvanic Skin Response via sensors. In turn, the sensors trigger visual lighting changes.
