Invitation-Only Arts Associations

The Battery is a Chic Members-Only Club in San Francisco

The Battery in San Francisco's Financial District is a new invitation-only members club aiming to provide a haven for individuals to discuss arts, culture, food and wine. Current members nominate individuals for membership consideration, which is decided upon by a secret committee.

The club's founders hope that a membership of 1,000 will be made up of one third tech professionals, with the rest open for interpretation. However, the club aims to be a place to discuss cultural and artistic ideas and pursuits rather than business talk and will discourage the use of computers inside the facility.

Located within an old marble factory, the Battery boasts a restaurant, four bars, library, a wine cellar, a gym and spa, in addition to 14 hotel rooms. The space was carefully curated by San Francisco interior designer Ken Fulk.
