Touchless Candy-Controlling Ads

The 'Telekinize the Rainbow' App Lets Users Control a Skittle

A promotion for Skittles called 'Telekinize the Rainbow' let users control real life Skittles without touching a thing. Telekinize the Rainbow is an online app that gives anybody the ability to make Skittles move around in real time without using a keyboard.

The app gives users the ability to move Skittles around by reading eye movements. By accessing your webcam, the website is able to analyze your eyes. The eye-based commands are then sent through to move Skittles. Using small, energy-efficient robots, the app moves skittles around a white plane.

Ad agency Clemenger BBDO created the ad to work just through Facebook. As soon as users enter the Facebook app, they are assigned a random Skittle to control. Eye movements can then be used to direct the candy around the board.
