The Tangible Alarm Turns Off Depending on Where the Phone Lies

The Tangible Alarm addresses people's tendency to use cellphones as their alarms nowadays. Not only is it more convenient in that it frees up bedside table space, it is also vastly more good-looking than the standard alarm clocks out there. Nevertheless, the Tangible Alarm pinpoints one of the shortcomings of smartphones as alarms, they are not as intuitive to use.

Designed by Victor Johansson, the Tangible Alarm makes it more intuitive. It is essentially a clean and simple wooden platter with three spots. When in the middle, the phone is in a neutral state. When placed on the right side, it goes into snooze mode and when placed to the left, the alarm is turned off completely. The Tangible Alarm uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to function.
