Speedo & Aquafil Created the World's First Swimwear Recycling Program

Speedo and Aquafil have teamed up in an innovative partnership to create sustainable swimwear that reuses bathing suit materials in a mutually beneficial business practice. The manufacturing system is the first fabric recycling program of its kind in swimwear production and is both eco-friendly as well as cost efficient.

The scraps from the post-manufacturing process at Speedo get shipped to Italy's 'Aquafil,' where the scraps are turned into 'ECONYL' raw nylon. This upgraded material is returned to Speedo so that it can create its new line of PowerFLEX Eco suits. This sustainable swimwear line can be infinitely recycled, creating a long-lasting, efficient relationship between the two companies.
